WebSpirit is a Clinical Trials Data Management System (CTDMS) developed by PTNA in 2013 with federal funding through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy. It is now in use across Australia and New Zealand.

The system is purpose-built for multi-centre paediatric clinical trials and is now in use across Australia and New Zealand to support investigator-driven studies.

Planning data management early
A clinical-trial data system should be considered while the protocol is being developed, not after recruitment begins. Research teams need to define the data collected at each visit, access responsibilities, validation rules, export requirements and how records will be managed across participating sites.
