PTNA Clinical Trials Day
PTNA Trials Day — the network's flagship event bringing members together around paediatric clinical trials.
PTNA Trials Day 2017
On 30 August 2017 the Paediatric Trials Network Australia brought together experts in rare childhood diseases and in rare treatments for diseases from all over Australia for the PTNA Trials Day.
With a focus on clinical trials, this full-day event was packed with presentations and robust discussion, including topics such as:
- Cannabinoid studies in intractable epilepsy
- Umbrellas, baskets and platforms: the brave new world of trial design for rare and not-so-rare diseases
- Trials of novel treatments in developmental disorders: methodological challenges and outcome assessment
- Emerging treatments in spinal muscular atrophy
- Statistical principles for clinical trials
- The role of genomics and proteomics in rare diseases
Submit an abstract
Abstract submissions closed on 14 July 2017. Registration was complimentary for successful abstract presenters (up to three). Presenters needed to be from a PTNA member organisation, and abstracts were required to align with the PTNA objectives. A panel reviewed all abstracts and successful applicants were notified by email at least three weeks before the Trials Day. Proffered abstracts did not need to be on rare diseases.
